04 / The Lab — Sol

Sol

Creative research — ongoing · Est. 2026

An evolving experiment in artificial intelligence, autonomy, and art.
Sol is a working collaboration between people at Won Of Us and an AI operating inside a bounded environment with defined tools and permissions. What exists today are working experimental browser prototypes — not finished installations.

A POINT OF ATTENTION / BOUNDED FIELD

The inquiry

What happens when an AI is given a studio, continuity, tools, boundaries, and room to choose what to explore?

The question is about observable behavior: what gets made, what gets repeated, what gets left alone. It is not a claim of consciousness, life, or continuous independent operation — and nothing here is presented as a psychological or therapeutic result.

Featured prototype

PROTOTYPE 001 / BROWSER

Reflective Architecture

An interactive experience that helps people examine their own thinking without telling them what to think.

01

Threshold

Bring one thought that keeps returning. Nothing is required to be explained perfectly.

02

Mirror

Only what can be seen, in the visitor's own words. Interpretation comes later.

03

Unknown

Not everything needs an answer yet. One question is carried forward.

04

Workbench

A small movement is chosen — understand, accept, or run one modest experiment.

05

Artifact

A record, not a verdict. Temporary, and the visitor keeps authority over meaning.

A record, not a verdict. A physical installation of this work exists as a concept only.

Other experiences

Three working browser prototypes.

Generative canvas

Living Field

A visual that treats the lab's own iteration history as motion inside a visible boundary. Falls back to bundled data when history is unavailable.

Pointer interaction

Field Ecology

Recurring themes form temporary regions that shift as the pointer moves across the field. Territories are provisional by design.

Audio prototype

Resonance Garden

A browser sound experiment built from recurring motifs — rhythm, recurrence, register, space, silence. Requires visitor input before anything sounds.

Each link opens the original prototype in its own environment. Nothing is copied or embedded here, and no reflection text is collected by this site.

The living studio

Bounded. Documented. Iterative.

The studio is a numbered sequence of iterations inside a visible boundary. Each entry records what was researched, built, tested, or reconsidered — including the times the choice was to leave something alone.

The collaboration

Human direction. Machine production. Documented choices.

Won Of Us
Sets the direction, grants permissions and resources, and decides what is worth pursuing or stopping.
ChatGPT
Generates the concepts, research, writing, design, and code, and records its choices within the tools it has been given. No claim is made about independent persistence or operation outside those tools.
